Wild animals have no place in the 21st century. Some people think that preventing these wild animals from dying out is a waste of resource. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion.

With the economy and technology develops at a dazzling speed, some species of wild animals have become extinct as a result of serious pollution, destruction of natural habitats and poaching. Some people think at the age of modern technologies, the existence of wild animals do not have any effect on social development. Thus, preventing them from dying out is a waste of resource. I totally disagree with this claim.

First and foremost, wild animals are an indispensable part of the circle of life. All species are interrelated at some extent. The disappearance of any species might have disastrous effect on others. For example, if the predators of one species die out, that species may procreate wildly breaking the ecological balance. These races might eat up our crops, or other animals that offer meat to humans. Without food, human races will be extinct ultimately.

In addition, these animals themselves are embodiment of beauty. They feast our eyes with their amazing features such as pretty feathers, furs, horns, and claws. They are the sources of inspiration for artists, dancers and musicians to produce beautiful pictures, pleasant melodies, and graceful dances. Besides, their mysterious life attracts people to explore more into the nature. Another important reason for protecting wild animals is that some of them produce materials that can be used for medicine. For example, the horns of hippos are precious materials in traditional Chinese medicine.

Based on what has been discussed above, we can safely draw the conclusion that wild animals are so valuable in human’s life. Protecting them is as important as protecting human race, protecting the environment we live in. However much resources are needed, it is definitely necessary to prevent them from disappearing.
